Who can participate?
Catalyst is committed to having participants that represent all of Alabama’s unique communities.
Here is what you need to know:
Alabama medical provider: To join you must have an Alabama medical provider (like a primary care doctor) who wishes to order the MyOme Personal Genome test for you. Your doctor has to have signed up to order the genetic test as a part of your participation in Catalyst. However, you can still make an account so the Catalyst Team knows to reach out to your doctor.
No bone marrow and/or stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, individuals who have received a bone marrow or stem cell transplant cannot participate due to the presence of donor DNA.
People under the age of 19, people without the ability to consent by themselves, or people who are incarcerated are not eligible to join.
Participating in Catalyst is free. Receiving the MyOme Personal Genome test and other benefits of Catalyst is at no cost to you. However, it is important to know that you are responsible for the cost of your doctor’s appointment or any doctor’s appointment after your results are returned.
