What are participants asked to do?

Before you decide to join, here is what you can expect if you choose to participate in Catalyst.

Create an Account

If you choose to participate in Catalyst, you will have to create an account through the registration page on the website or in the mobile app. You will be asked to provide your email address or mobile phone number as well as answer a few questions about yourself like your name and birthday.

Check Your Eligibility

Once you have created your account, you will be asked to check your eligibility by completing a quick two question survey. We will ask you if you have ever had a stem cell or bone marrow transplant, and we will ask you to identify your provider. Until your provider is able to order the MyOme Personal Genome test for Catalyst, you will not be able to continue.

Consent to Catalyst

You will be asked to consent to Catalyst. You will be walked through videos describing what Catalyst is, what you will be asked to do, and other information about the program. Understanding what Catalyst is and what you will be consenting to is very important. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to sign the consent form (electronically).

Complete Surveys

You will be asked to complete surveys within your participant portal to learn about your background, health history, use of healthcare services, and health-related social factors.

Give Your Sample

We will ask you for the appointment date of your blood collection for the MyOme Personal Genome test with your healthcare provider. Your genetic test results will go directly to your healthcare provider, and the extra tube of blood will be donated for research.

Connect Your Electronic Health Record

You will be asked to share your electronic health record (EHR) data with us to help us share opportunities to participate in other research programs.

Review Your Results

You will have access to your survey results in your portal. Your genetic test results are sent to your provider from MyOme. We highly encourage you to discuss your SDOH survey and MyOme Personal Genome test results with your provider. Having these conversations could lead to improvements in your health overtime.

Be Matched With Other Research Studies You’re Eligible For

After you share your EHR, you may receive information about other research studies you are eligible for based on your EHR and genetic data. You will only be given information on these studies and will have the choice to take action based on the information given.

Tell Us About Your Experience

You will be asked to complete a short survey to give the Catalyst Team feedback on your experience throughout the program. Your responses will help us know how Catalyst is making an impact and find areas where we can Catalyst better.
