Privacy and Security
Your Privacy and Data Security Matter. Catalyst is committed to keeping your data safe.
Here’s how we ensure your data is secure:
Informed Consent
We only collect data from participants who have signed a consent form.
Strict Confidentiality
Your personal information is kept confidential and will not be shared with unauthorized parties.
Limited Access
Only authorized representatives, like researchers and regulatory agencies, can review necessary documents, and they must follow strict rules.
Data De-Identification
We remove names and other identifying information from your data before researchers can see it, replacing your personal details with a unique code to protect your identity.
Honest Brokers
Special team members, called Honest Brokers, manage your personal information and ensure that only de-identified data is used in research.
Secure Storage
Your data and any biological samples (like blood) are stored securely with unique codes, and only Honest Brokers can link these back to you if needed. We store information on protected computers and limit who can access it.
Compliance and Policies
We follow Federal, Alabama State, and local laws and regulations to keep your information safe. We have strict internal policies and procedures to prevent misuse of data.
System Security
We regularly check our systems to make sure they are secure.
Researcher Agreements
To work with your health data, researchers must agree to rules, including promising not to try to identify you.
Notification of Breach
We will inform you if there is a risk to your privacy because of a data breach.
By following these steps, we make sure your data remains private and secure throughout the research process.
